Wittgenstein
What are the main themes of this book? Wittgenstein turns his back on his previous work. The whole idea of logic tables and sets was, in his mind, a glorious delusion. A delusion based on how language works. As children, we learn about the world with one powerful tool set which is language. We name our world and share and judge our meaning buy a common shared language, which also has a high personal element to it.
I would place it in the same category as "Origin of Species" by Charles Darwin. I say this because Darwin helped us understand the fundamental processes of natural selection. It's this mechanism, that is the central controlling force of the natural world. Wittgenstein on the other hand, helps us develop a picture of how language is at the centre of what makes us human beings and places us in a different position to other animals which are completely controlled by natural selection.
